Brant Point

Brant Point peninsula provides Nantucket Harbor valuable shelter from ocean waves, and its lighthouse is the embodiment of coastal resilience: it has been moved and rebuilt more times than any other lighthouse in the Nation. Brant Point Light Station was built in 1901 and is preceded by others that have been burned, destroyed by storm or moved. Much of the neighborhood was built on wetlands and thus, the area is one of the most vulnerable to increased storm-related and sunny day flooding.
